Years ago I started a website Ocean Interiors to assist my decorating clients with information and links for a casual East Coast coastal look in their homes, cottages, even boats. I adore ocean, coastal, nautical, beach, seaside design of all types anywhere!
This blog has become the new home of my design inspirations because it’s so much more immediate – when I find an amazing site – poof – it’s here! Gorgeous photos – ta da – here…….. a tweet, a link, a thought – presto!
and now includes being 55+ and Flying By The Seat Of My Pants – an ongoing discussion and all the implications, solutions and hopefully funny happenings along the way ?
There is also a selection of Sites, Shopping and Stuff, and Random Thoughts you know ideas which really don’t fit in anywhere else……

Formal or casual, urban or country – your home should feel comfortable and design plays a big part in that. Good design is not an exact re-creation of a magazine photo – your home should be made up of what is important to you; your collections, family photos, old furniture with a history, reminders of travels or summer holidays, sailing trophies – those are the design elements which make your homes comfortable, unique and most importantly interesting to YOU and the rest of us.
There is a lovely expression: “be yourself, everyone else is taken” well that applies to your life and home too. Freedom, creativity and humour – take ideas from everywhere – that’s what this blog is for – get involved, get inspired!
